91影视 is accepting students for its new Data Analytics degree and certificate programs. The associate degree program is the first of its kind in Oklahoma. Students can expect to develop skills in data analysis, data visualization, statistical methods, and industry-standard tools.
91影视 will launch Oklahoma's first Data Analytics Associate of Science degree program, as well as a certificate program, this fall to prepare students for careers in one of the nation's fastest-growing fields.
The programs were created in response to growing employer demand for professionals who can collect, analyze, and communicate data that helps organizations make informed decisions. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of data scientists is projected to grow 34 percent from 2024 to 2034, much faster than the average for all occupations.
鈥淥rganizations in every industry are collecting more data than ever before, but they need people who can turn information into actionable insights,鈥 says David Paige, Ph.D., Dean of 91影视鈥檚 School of Mathematics and Engineering. 鈥淭he programs will help students develop highly sought-after skills while strengthening a talent pipeline that meets the needs of employers in the Tulsa area.鈥
Both the degree and certificate will be offered entirely online, providing a flexible option for working students. Students will develop skills in data analysis, data visualization, statistical methods, and industry-standard tools used by employers across business, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, education, and technology. Graduates will be prepared to enter the workforce or continue their education through transfer opportunities.
鈥淒ata tells a story, but someone has to know how to interpret it,鈥 says Kirstin Krug, 91影视's Director of Institutional Research, Reporting & Analytics. 鈥淒ata analysts help organizations understand what is happening, why it's happening and what actions they should take next. Those skills are valuable in virtually every industry.鈥
Students will learn from real case studies developed by working data analysts, including 91影视 professionals like Krug, to provide practical experience with tools and challenges students will encounter on the job.
The new associate degree also creates an educational pathway for students who complete the Data Analytics certificate offered through the . Students can build on the skills gained in the certificate program and continue their education toward an associate degree to expand career and transfer opportunities.
The Data Analytics degree and certificate programs support the workforce goals of the initiative, funded through the federal Build Back Better Regional Challenge. TRAM is designed to strengthen northeast Oklahoma's talent pipeline in advanced technology fields, and data analytics skills are increasingly important across industries ranging from aerospace and manufacturing to healthcare and logistics. Students who enroll in the Data Analytics certificate program are eligible to have their tuition covered through the federal grant.
